CatGenie Washable Granules

At first, the cats didn’t know quite what to make of it. So, you have to be patient. Set up your catgenie in the bathroom or the laundry room, but keep their litterbox nearby. I let the old litterbox get a little “dirty” and my cat who is extremely tidy began using the catgenie. The old litterbox has gone away with the garbage truck. Now, the cats seem to enjoy watching the catgenie go through its cleaning cycle. Definitely worth the money as it has saved me time and my sanity.

Who would ever think that some day there would be washable litter? Well there is and it is cool. The cats were unsure at first, but they still used the CatGenie. Only complaint is that I have these little white granules are all over my house. They are more visable due to their larger size. I just vacuum them up every morning with my stick vacuum and put them back in the CatGenie. No problem!

Cat Genie Granules work just fine. Better than sifting out cat litter. And they are biodegradeable therefore better for the environment.

I love the CatGenie, and it is nice to be able to conveniently order this and the sanitizer cartridges from a reliable company. Thank YOU

If you have a cat(s), the CatGenie is a must! It does all the work for you!

The only people out there buying this product own a Cat Genie, so we already know almost everything about the granules, etc. I purchased through Amazon to save a few dollars on shipping costs, which I will likely to continue to do since the cost to ship these direct from the Cat Genie people is pretty high. Products arrived quickly and were identical to those that came with the machine.

One old neutered/rescued guy (Toby, at least 14) took one look at CatGenie, ran to it, used it, and has used nothing else since (4 months). I suspect that he used a CatGenie before he was lost. He has long hairy paws, so, of course, tracks granules all over the apartment. I’m asking the vet/groomer please, trim the hairs between his foot pads. I think that might help the situation a bit. A large rug is a necessity for containing granules when a kitty jumps out of the Genie’s bowl. Toby’s younger (also neutered/rescued male – maybe 10 – Corky) has not adjusted to the “newfangled potty” and has dared me to continue trying to remove his old litter pan. He dares me by starting a spraying campaign – so, of course, I’ve given up insisting. Finally I did successfully get him out of the spraying habit, gave him a new pan with granules in it (obeying the kitty litter taboo), so we’re both happy – kinda. I’ve placed it next to the Genie – hoping that a transfer will take place eventually. I mean: if you can’t win ‘em, join ‘em. This Amazon Genie is great, the washable granules are great, the Sani-wash is great, and my two guys are great – even the reluctant one. Patience is the key. [Pardon me if this is too long. Shorten it as you like.]

OK, so the tempermental Cat Genie is a not for everyone. But for the rest of us, it’s godsend. What these granules do for me is maintain a very sanitary litter box for a valuable 15 year old service animal on chemotherapy and help his person who has a compromised immune system and can’t handle litter at all. I’m so grateful that I no longer have to deal with scooping and bagging and hauling, and fight the endless battle of odor and sanitizing. The granules track as bad as any other litter with the difference being they don’t have ANY “dust” at all. You do feel it if you step on the individual granules, but if you put a large litter mat or a big plush rug in front of the litter box, the granules will be caught in them and you can pick up the edges of the rug, shake loose the granules and then dump them back into the box, using the rug to funnel them. There is no solution to cat litter boxes unless you have a full time maid, but this is one option that I think is the best solution for indoor litter boxes for many of us. If you have the need for bacterial reduction and minimizing dust, this is as good as it gets.
